This is such a beautiful yet sad song about miners. God bless them all.

Wrexham, Gresford. 1934. Swapped shifts so they could watch Wrexham v Tranmere Rovers. To the 266. 🏴 you will never be forgotten. And we will never forget that your family’s only received half a shifts wage by the company because you didn’t complete a full a shift. God bless.
Who’s here 2024 🏴
Wonderful song. Glückauf from germany ⚒
This song always brings a tear to my eye and lump in my throat. All those men and children down in the dark underground. God bless them all ✝️

Is anyone else here because of Young Sheldon? The latest episode was so sad, RIP George Cooper & RIP all miners who passed away
I've listened to them all, this is the BEST of all of them............
My Great Grandfather, my Grandfather, my father and I all worked underground. I got out after ten years when the mine closed. It was very hard, yet very satisfying work.

What does that even mean?
I was informed of a gentleman, who was bringing into dock a navel ship at the time the miners were on strike. The captain of the vessel remarked words to the effect, as to what he would do to the miners. My friend replied ' you wouldn't last half a shift underground. He was reported and was brought before the top brass. He was reprimanded for speaking out of turn, but couldn't be sacked as he wasnt of direct Royal Navy. (personally i believe there was another major factor). When he would pass through the dock gates to go home, he always took off his officers hat and placed on his cap and overcoat. He knew the struggle of the working man, and as a youngster endured the American great depression. He was very well read and had a fantastic brain to the very moment he died. He never forgot the stable he came from.

I remember it must been about in 1968 there was a mine near Leeds there was 8 men trapped down the mine which somehow filled up with water. My husband and I sat up all night for news but the search went on for probably months before it was realised they couldn't be rescued. Has anyone else heard of this terrible accident so it's rip for those brave souls x

Underpaid undervalued and now considered with disdain kept the country warm with electricity Mrs Thatcher epitomizes the ingratitude to the miners and other members of the working class the historical peasants scratching the dirt
